Get positive results with negative painting. Learning to paint negative shapes (in other words, the spaces around and between the positive shapes of your subject) You’ll learn what to look for when painting negative shapes and how to create depth in your paintings.
Learning the importance of values (lights to darks) and how to see them in the real world is the quickest way to take your watercolors to the next level..
We will use nature as our subject with some abstract approaches to create no fail paintings with the “Wow” factor.
Kathleen is a renown watercolorist, mixed water media artist, and collage artist using nature as her inspiration. She uses various techniques to create an exciting environment that draws the viewer into the painting. She enjoys creating her own interpretation of a subject, adding unusual colors and shapes to add atmosphere and mystery.
Post career, Kathleen took extensive coursework in Fine Arts, Design, and Art History at Portland State University & Oregon State University, and numerous workshops with nationally recognized art educators.
She has been a board member of the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society and the Palm Springs Art Museum Artists Council, and is Vice-President of San Diego Watercolor Society.
Kathleen has participated in many juried shows and won numerous awards for her work!
She is an extremely popular workshop instructor for a number of organizations. Nowadays, Art Camp 4 Grownups is her rare venus for teaching.
