Watercolor

with Kathleen Scoggin

Starting with ideas gleaned from our surroundings, students will use gouache and watercolors on black paper.

Learn new techniques!

Oil Painting

Meryl Hamilton

During this workshop, students will have the opportunity to work with oil paint to create a simple, yet stunning, still life on a canvas. Teacher will guide students through how to complete this painting with primary, black, and white colors only to create a simple yet dramatic result.

Watercolor

Debbie Abshear

Watercolor is a fluid medium, able to apply to many surfaces.  Your class is even more fun with Debbie showing you the techniques!

You will make something special.

Portrait Drawings with Collage

Jamie Utter

Create intriguing and unusual portraits by combining various papers with more traditional drawing mediums. We will work from reference photos creating unexpected and surprising studies combining these materials and techniques. Students may bring with them photographs that are personally meaningful to use as reference. In the process you will learn to analyze and portray shapes and values in new ways. It's also an exciting way to create art from recycled materials.

Printmaking

Denise Kraemer

Printmaking is an ink-based medium, and instead of painting on canvas or paper, the image on an inked plate is transferred to paper using a printing press. Your plate is a reverse of your image, further challenging your brain to develop new ways of seeing.
